Chrysmo is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) home improvement app that utilizes WebRTC streaming video and voice capabilities to give homeowners instant access to experts that provide immediate assistance with home repairs.

It is one of the first mobile applications created to provide homeowners with real-time audio or video communication with an expert handyman or professional contractor.  If the expert can not resolve the issue, the homeowner is then connected with a licensed, qualified contractor in their area that can provide a diagnosis and estimate. Whether repairing a leaky faucet or installing a new thermostat, Chrysmo connects homeowners to experts instantly.  

CHALLENGE

A new technological trend in how people access information, make decisions and communicate has emerged. Digital interactions are overtaking traditional communications and there is high user demand for easy-to-use applications that align with increasingly connected lifestyles.  Chrysmo wanted to create an application that would match this reality.  Its goal was to go beyond providing a mere homeowner referral or homeowner-expert text messaging solution like many of the current offerings in the market today.  By deploying an application that allows users the ability to connect instantly with live experts and contractors, Chrysmo is revolutionizing the way homeowners approach home improvement projects.

Traditional home improvement solutions such as HomeAdvisor, Porch and Angie’s List require users to comb through reviews or spend valuable time filling out forms and/or calling several professionals to obtain estimates from contractors. Rather than taking time out of their busy schedule to wait on contractors to come to their home and provide an estimate, homeowners with Chrysmo would now be able to bypass this tedious process and instantly connect with an expert, or contractor if needed, directly within the app.  No searching. No waiting.

Chrysmo is home improvement improved. The unparalleled ease of use and convenience offered by WebRTC technology allowed the implementation of innovative new features that are unique to Chrysmo and currently unavailable in any existing home improvement platforms on the market today. It has a remarkably user-friendly interface with sophisticated technology built to supply homeowners with real-time support. The platform uses chatbots to facilitate the process of defining the homeowners issue so that the appropriate help is provided.  By utilizing an advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) system to interact with the homeowner through text, the chatbot allows the platform to convincingly simulate the behavior of a conversational partner providing an engaging, results-driven communications experience.

Chrysmo streamlines communications between homeowners and contractors by allowing secure face-to-face interactions directly from their smart phones.  The platform is a scalable solution designed to provide a rich, connected engagement experience for the user. Chrysmo decreases the traditional time required to resolve home repair issues by allowing problems to be solved directly by a live expert.

By simply connecting  from a mobile device, users can share their issues with an expert and receive a real-time consultation without the expert ever having to enter their home. If the expert requires additional assistance, homeowners are connected to licensed contractors through the app, enabling real-time collaboration.
